PRESS RELEASEAdd A Voice, an independent advocacy service covering the whole of the Wigan & Leigh Borough, is currently in the process of recruiting new Management Committee members. Committee members are an essential part of the organisation and are responsible for making sure that Add A Voice is steered in the right direction. Members are encouraged to attend a monthly meeting to discuss the project and there are a number of initiatives that members can get involved in if they wish to. Funded by the Community Fund, Add A Voice offers support to anyone over the age of 18 who feels they need someone to speak up for them or help them speak up for themselves. Examples of cases undertaken by advocates include:- assisting a person attend meetings or write letters, supporting & enabling a person to move out of supported accommodation, helping clients access information about budgeting their finances. Management Committee membership is open to anyone over the age of 18 living within the Wigan Metropolitan Borough. Full induction and travel expenses are available.
Lucy Whiting, Manager at Add A Voice says;
